I really love these traffic lights. Although I could never get used to looking up in the sky to find them when I was driving round.

Coyote Ugly

I just watched the first 20 minutes of Coyote Ugly and it reminded me of something I’d completely forgotten. I’d been in NYC for about six weeks and didn’t really know anyone. A work colleague took pity on me and invited me to a BBQ on the Upper East Side. When it was time to leave I found myself in a cab with two guys from the party who were going in my direction. Next thing I know in Hogs and Heifers in the Meatpacking district (not sure where Coyote Ugly was filmed but it sure looked like the same place).

I had no idea what was going on, but managed to get a drink in my hand before I realised that I was with two guys, who I’d not met before and didn’t even know their names (except that they were visiting from Ohio or some such place), in a crazy bar and it was nowhere near bedtime. I decided that discretion would be the better part of valour and left them to their night out.

For me, there would be plenty more where that came from…
